JOB TITLE: Quality Manager
DEPARTMENT: Quality Assurance / Technical Services
REPORTS TO:Quality Director

OVERVIEW:
Management position responsible for functional team(s) within Quality. Responsible for promoting and facilitating a quality management system; to assure product quality meets or exceeds governmental, enterprise, and customer expectations of quality requirements and performance. Responsible for continuously reviewing quality management philosophy, practice, and procedures to ensure the highest standards. Recommends, implements and monitors changes in programs to increase effectiveness. Performs functions to develop and administer quality management systems; to assure product quality excellence; and to protect brand equity. Responsible for Quality Performance for their assigned team(s). Management of product quality for assigned clients, Execution of team goals and objectives, Talent management, Planning and Day to Day activities within team.
Typically manages Sr. Quality Specialists directly and QA Specialists/Technicians indirectly.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Quality Control Issue Management
-Facilitate and lead QC activities as needed.
-Lead problem solving efforts and direct team as necessary to reach quick conclusion.
-Assure that percentage of time spent on QC work is reduced as QM work is increased.
-Foster a culture of Quality Management rather than Quality Control .

QA Program Execution
-Manage new project risk assessment (product, design, package, etc) to evaluate risks and initiate contingency plans.
-Proactively partner with the brands to understand QA needs and facilitate alignment with the business goals.
-Monitor and manage post launch quality performance. Appropriately act and direct activities based on results.
-Provide technical and investigative support to vendors and cross-functional partners.
-Manage investigation process or product deviations and implement corrective actions.
-Develop & facilitate Quality Planning activities in team (Quality, Cost, Timing)
-Evaluate and communicate quality performance results to QA Management Team.

Vendor Performance
-Provide technical support to worldwide contract manufacturing operations.
-Communicate Quality Assurance policies and procedures to vendors and internal cross-functional partners.
-Manage vendor compliance to Quality Assurance requirements.
-Develop vendor launch plans as part of Quality Planning process.
-Manage vendor's performance and troubleshoot issues to drive continuous improvement.
-Manage timely and accurate input of data into QN database for Vendor Scorecard.
-Utilize all appropriate info to track a assess vendor performance and need for corrective actions.

Talent Management and Development
-Individual Development Plan/Personal Performance Objective Creation
-Manage teams of 2+ associates
-Develop junior level associates
-Participate on panel interviews; Assist in On-Boarding new associates
-Talent Development
-Process Improvement w/in team

QUALIFICATIONS:
-5 to 7 years quality management experience on multiple product lines.
-Consumer Products experience required.
-Facilitate quality planning, project management, quality control processes, statistical techniques and GMP.
-Strong problem solving skills.
-Comfortable performing multifaceted projects along with day-to-day activities
-Ability to establish credibility and be decisive
-Service oriented but assertive and persuasive
-Able to interact with all levels of personnel and management (internally or externally)
-Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
-Demonstrated ability to lead effectively within a team environment.
-Ability to travel (up to 20%) domestically and internationally.

EDUCATION:
-Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physical or Natural Sciences.
