Provide functional expertise to the total business enterprise relating to Consumer Product Safety Commission, Food and Drug Administration, and Federal Trade Commission regulations and L Brands products impacted by such regulations.
-Provide leadership and strategy regarding enterprise compliance on CPSC, FDA, and FTC product compliance matters.
-Responsible for defining corporate enterprise-wide policies on CPSC, FDA, and FTC regulated products and supporting the development of enterprise processes to assure compliance.
-Provide extensive ad hoc policy and product development support to sourcing teams.
-Design enterprise-wide training around the evolving needs of the business with emphasis on apparel compliance and industry best practice; knowledge and experience in hardlines is required as well.
-Primary interface with internal and external personnel on CPSC and FTC related matters.
-Proactively support existing LBI policy forums (Fabric Directors, Production / Sourcing, Product Risk Council) to ensure regulatory voice in strategic decision making on matters of product design, sourcing, and production.
-Responsible for monitoring current developments and notifying interested parties within the company of impact of pending regulations.
-Participate in trade association and standards setting organization as appropriate.
-Plans and conducts audits of business units as relates to corporate policies and overall compliance issues.
-B.S. in technical field, Masters / Ph.D preferred.
-Requires 10 + years regulatory management experience in industries regulated by CPSC, FTC, and FDA. Extensive expertise in domestic and international apparel regulatory framework required.
-Background in branded apparel and other consumer products preferred; commercial consumer product / apparel testing lab experience beneficial.
-Previous experience with a retail business preferred.
