Role Summary:
The Henri Bendel Stylist will rely primarily on returning clients, but will also proactively assist incoming daily traffic. They will maintain regular contact with them and proactively reach out to them to keep them informed of incoming merchandise and events in order to maximize volume opportunities. All customers will be identified as opportunities to become a regular client. As such, this role is responsible for ensuring a genuine, engaging and entertaining Bendels customer experience.

Role Responsibilities:

Drives Sales:
- Should exceed sales goals per hour and overall sales volume goals; Average Dollar Sales (ADS) Goals; and Units per Transactions (UPT) Goals
- Introduce customers to the Henri Bendel branded merchandise, and drive sales in this and all categories through cross-selling
- Takes on sales goals with flexibility and passion
- Collaborates with colleagues in order to introduce customers to other categories and build sales volume
- Generally acts as a specialist in one merchandise category by gaining knowledge through by vendor relationships, product knowledge sessions, buyer guidance and various forms of media. Develops general knowledge in categories outside of own area through product knowledge sessions in order to assist customers across all categories

Delivers Exceptional Customer Service
- Approaches customers in a genuine, engaging manner that will differentiate the Bendels experience as one that is fun and entertaining
- Establish an intimate and professional rapport with clients that will help them understand her style-. Through this relationship, develops an understanding and awareness of their clients- needs, favorite designers, purchasing trends and existing wardrobe. Maximize and build sales volume opportunities through replenishment, new designer items or suggest accessories that complement existing wardrobes
- Remains continually aware of events and new merchandise, and calls their client base to invite them in to shop or attend events
- Effectively uses tools and resources to maintain client contact (i.e. using CPS to capture/update customer and selling information for mailing lists). Also captures all relevant information in their client book in order to build these relationships
- Keeps management informed of customer requests and selling trends
- Send pictures of merchandise to clients that match their taste level and/or upcoming social engagements/commitments
- Handles returns and exchanges in a positive manner and makes every effort to convert the transaction to a sale
- Engage clients with knowledge of brand appropriate -hot spots- in NYC and offer -concierge- services while the client is shopping with them

Maintains Prestige Brand Standards
- With the eye of the customer in mind, straightens up and fills in merchandise in selling area; cleans out fitting rooms; keeps work spaces neat, clean and orderly
- Notifies Loss Prevention or maintenance associates immediately of safety risks or potential loss issues
- Partners with Visual Merchandising to ensure new visual displays are maintained correctly

Fully Supports All Operating Behaviors
- Embraces change and supports new business directions in a positive and constructive manner
- Represents the brand image well in terms of attire and professionalism
- Follows all opening and closing procedures regularly and correctly (e.g. ensures register is ready for transactions as soon as the store opens)
- Rings up sales under appropriate sales staff numbers
- Keen awareness of and ability to follow loss prevention and general policies and procedures at all times
- Attends product knowledge training sessions
- Embraces and may often recommend change/fresh approaches and supports new business directions in order to improve the business overall

Experience and required skills:
- At least two years of sales experience required, prestige brand experience preferred
- Prior experience developing a clientele base required, an existing client book preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of and passion for hottest fashion trends
- Ability to gain a strong understanding of the Henri Bendel brand and vision
- Ability to manage the client relationship effectively, understanding when to fully engage a client and when to take a more laid back approach
