Partner with product development, technical and manufacturing to develop and execute product consistent with design vision and the Brand's Global Sourcing Strategy. Manage the Production & Sourcing category team in achieving business performance objectives, by focusing on time, quality, deliveries at the right cost, with the required speed and flexibility in support of the PINK brand strategy.
-Ownership of your category/lifestyle including influencing cross-functional partners to meet department volume and profit goals, partnering cross-functionally to engineer cost, profit and initial mark-up to meet targeted margins and design intent
-Hire, coach and develop a quality team; this includes succession planning and regular performance reviews to address personal growth and development needed to foster a productive, focused team
-Leverage industry knowledge to assist in the development and support of a seasonal sourcing strategy that is consistent with brand business initiatives, that enables the growth of the PINK brand; analyze and understand Vendor capabilities to ensure quality and profitability of merchandise
-Act as point person with global cross functional partners throughout the development and production process to communicate changes in a timely manner, highlight the risk/opportunity to the business when significant decisions/changes have been made that will place production outside the Go/No Go parameters; build and maintain partnerships cross-functionally and in regeion to facilitate successful production and on-time deliveries
-Owns the costing process on back end, including the negotiation and management of costs with direct reports to meet internal business IMU and AUC goals; understand factors driving costs and alternatives to reduce costs; recommend cost efficiencies based on consistent production, boat vs. air and value added distribution methods
-Maintain a thorough understanding financial scope of specific merchandise categories and relationship to total financial overview
-Participate in the development of strategic vendor partnerships that support the allocation process in an effort to minimize costs and maximize efficiencies and manage capacity. To include vendor on-boarding, developing capacity projections, and continual evaluation of vendor capabilities and performance
-Challenge and negotiate timing for the fastest overall lead times building read and react capability into the Go-No-Gos; highlight the risk/opportunity to the business when significant decisions/changes have been made that will place production outside the Go/No-Go parameters for overall category
-Interface with global cross functional teams, including Brand Leadership, to ensure proper communication, support and coordination of Pre Production and Production issues; recommend action and communicate issues that relate to Production and may hinder our ability to achieve our inventory and financial objectives
-Own all elements of financial liability regarding the procurement of merchandise including greige, color, cut garment, componentry and quota issues
-Insure appropriate WIPS preparation and attendance with direct reports, calling out issues, escalating critical risk, etc.
-Maintain production meetings with cross functional partners, and as needed with the Vendors and regional offices, to ensure all brand and production needs are met, that production is placed in approved and appropriate factories and deliveries are scheduled to ship on time.
-Bachelors Degree in Retail Merchandising, Supply Chain/Logistics or related field; or equivalent work experience
-7+ years experience with time in 2 or more categories; preferably in a retail apparel production & sourcing environment
-Experience working with regional partners required; overseas/factory exposure preferred
-Knowledge and understanding of the supply/vendor base and global manufacturing environment
-Proficient with Microsoft Office suite; proven Excel skills required
-Detail oriented with strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
-Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing at all levels
-Proven influencing and negotiation skills
-Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills with previous experience supervising and developing direct reports
-Detailed understanding of product cost.
-Demonstrated experience in bringing flexibility and read and react capability to production processes
-Ability to work well with ambiguity, and long-distance cross-functional teams (independent - multiple locations)
-Ability to travel domestically and overseas as business requires
